Fodor's offers many packages and travel ideas, as well as weather, travel advisories, and expert advice on getting the most for your money. The site is dense, but offers every service a traveler could need.

3. Tourism Office Worldwide Directory
The TOWD is your guide to official tourist information sources. The Directory lists only official government tourism offices, convention and visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce, and similar agencies which provide free, accurate, and unbiased travel information to the public.

4. Travelocity
Travelocity is one of the most powerful one-stop travel sites on the Internet, providing secure online reservation capabilities for air, car, hotel and vacation reservations, plus access to a vast database of destination and other travel information. Requires registration, but there is no fee.

5. World Factbook
An exhaustive country listing of information relating to the geography, economy, transportation, communications and politics that can assist travelers in planning for world travel.
