Suggested Sites:

1. Amusement Park Physics
This site describes in basic terms the physics behind different amusement park rides. Activities demonstrating the concepts are included, such as designing your own roller coaster. It also includes extra sections about ride safety and motion sickness.

2. College Physics for Students of Biology and Chemistry
This is a hypertextbook written for first-year undergraduate physics students. It assumes that you have a working knowledge of algebra, and that you are currently taking or have taken a college level course in Biology and one in Chemistry. This site is a step up in complexity from Physics Classroom and will be of use to high school students in AP Physics up through grad students needing a good definition.

3. Exploring Gravity
A wonderful site from the Applied Physics Department, Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. You will find all aspects of gravity explored from a simple discussion of Newton's basic laws to black holes and escape velocity.

4. The Physics Classroom
This is a physics tutorial sponsored by StudyWorks! Online. Here you will find tutorials on a variety of topics such as: work, energy and power; waves; momentum and its conservation. This site is a nice complement to a high school physics course.

5. Exploring Gravity PhysLINK: Physics and Astronomy
Comprehensive education and reference guide to physics-related Internet resources covering reference, departments and grad school, societies, journals, history, images, news, jobs, software, new theories, quotations and fun. See the Ask the Experts area for answers to common questions.

6. Stephen Hawking's Universe
This web site, based on the PBS television series, presents the concepts behind the area of science where astronomy, relativity, and quantum mechanics merge in a way that's accessible to the layperson. Included are a historical look at various models of the universe, a bibliography, an annotated webliography, a teacher's guide and the opportunity to ask questions of prominent cosmologists.
