2. Ameristat
Ameristat is a convenient site to find capsule summaries of U.S. demographic data. The site summarizes census and other data in various categories, such as marriage and family, race and ethnicity, migration, and older population.
3. InfoNation
InfoNation is a United Nations database that allows you to easily find and compare up-to-date statistical data for the UN's member nations. You can choose up to seven nations and four data attributes to compare at one time. Data attributes include geographic, economic, and population statistics, as well as various social indicators.
4. LIPA: Population Survey
Each year the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) publishes its yearly estimates of population data for Nassau and Suffolk counties and the Rockaway Peninsula of Queens. The link for the population survey is toward the bottom of the page.

Interactive maps of Long Island towns allow you to find Census 2000 data on individual cities, counties, towns and places. Special reports are available on diversity and minority populations on Long Island.
6. U.S. Census Bureau
The Census Bureau compiles population and demographic data on the United States including income, housing, births and deaths, marital status, and race. Also included is the most recent business census of the United States and current economic indicators.
7. U.S. Historical Census Browser
This site provides access to historical population and socio-economic data from the U.S. federal census from its beginnings in 1790 through 1960. The database allows you to choose individual or multiple data sets to display in tabular format. Data is available for the state and county level. The data results can also be graphed.
